The Flip Slide
I asked the man at the hostel, he drew an arrow on the small map. I asked a man working at the standing buddha, he said 2km that way, pointing east. I asked an elderly shop lady, she wrote the number 72 on her hand. I asked a fruit vendor, he pointed down the street with a smile. I asked the security guard, he said turn right or light, so I took a right at the light. I asked a group of students, they conversed with each other, then asked another friend. I asked the other friend, he told me to make the first left and the first right down the main street. I did. After the kindness of 7 strangers, I found this temple. Never underestimate the power of broken english, sign language, and smiles to get you to where you need to be. Life is a journey, not a destination.
